EXEGESIS

The film is based on the Biblical Apocalypse, mostly known as The Book of Revelation —an ancient prophecy about the End of Times.

The exegetical interpretation presented in the film is grounded in the teachings of the early Church Fathers and follows the ideas of Cardinal Louis Billot, Josef Pieper, J. H. Newman, B. Holzhauser, and Fr. Leonardo Castellani, bringing them into focus in light of the present times.

About the Director

Simón Delacre, founder of CARAVEL FILMS, is the screenwriter, director, and producer of The Apocalypse of Saint John. He is an Argentine, a devout Catholic, and a family man.

His career began at the University of Buenos Aires, where he studied film. After graduating, he began directing and producing a series of science fiction short films, thus honing his skills as a well-rounded filmmaker.

With a background in professional photography, Simón worked for many years as a photographer and videographer. In 2020, he began producing and directing his debut feature: The Apocalypse of Saint John. In this masterpiece, he not only stood out as director and producer but also left his mark through the visual effects and cinematography, showcasing his versatility and creativity.

Out of his deep interest in the study of End Times prophecies and his fascination with Hollywood films from the 1990s and 2000s—especially in the science fiction genre—was born The Apocalypse of Saint John: a film that will surprise audiences both for how edifying it is and how entertaining.

Get ready for a unique and unforgettable cinematic experience!

SIGNS OF THE TIMES

No one should attempt to predict the exact date of Christ’s return.

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” (Mt 24:36)
Setting dates is reckless and contrary to the Gospel.

However, we must not forget the exhortation Jesus gave to His apostles:

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.” (Mt 24:32-33)

In other words, although we cannot know the exact moment, we must read the signs of the times to discern when His glorious return is near. God wants us to recognize when that moment approaches; for this reason, He gave us the prophecies—above all, the greatest of them: the Book of Revelation.

Today, more than ever, the branches of the fig tree seem tender, and its leaves have already begun to sprout...
